Hello. Welcome to Ferris Wheel Music. My name is Jacob Fink, I am a junior in high school on Long Island and I love music, but I think that part is implied. I have seen other sites focus on certain types of music, specific genres, only independent music or other classifications, so, what will this blog contain - Well, simply, primarily music that I enjoy or music that I find interesting, important and/or relevant to share. I will be posting about some of my favorite artists, and records (Heads up: Buy a couple Frank Turner albums, it will improve your ITunes library tenfold). I will be reviewing albums, so I will not always have a positive opinion of the music presented on this site.
I said that this site will primarily contain music that I enjoy, but what genres are those? Which musicians? Well, I have a relatively varied taste in music. I rarely delve into certain genres, like dubstep (although I would be willing to try if you have any suggestions), and others that I find myself searching through repeatedly, looking for new music, like different subgenres of rock (punk, folk, you name it I am there) and hip-hop. Still, I like songs and artists across the board, even from genres that I would not consider myself a fan of, so there really is room for music fans of all types here, and I will gladly listen to your suggestions regardless of genre.
I am excited to get to share music, and my opinion of it, and I am hoping that if you have a favorite artist, or a song that you are constantly replaying, that you send it to me, because I am always interested in finding new music. I hope you stick around and read what I have to say. I will try to be more profound next time, but honestly, introductions are difficult.
